Why roofers call us

A re-roof with solar on it is only as good as the solar sub

Finished solar panel reset on a new concrete tile roof in Buckeye, Arizona, panels flush and aligned
A finished reset on a new tile roof. Your customer sees one clean result and one company that kept its word.

You already know how this goes wrong. The solar crew shows up two days late and your tear-off sits. They crack tiles getting panels off and you eat the replacement. Six months on, a mount leaks and the homeowner calls you, because it is your roof and your name on the proposal. You never hear what actually happened until it has become your problem.

Solar Detach & Reset exists to take that risk off your plate. We are a licensed Arizona electrical contractor that only does solar work on roofs, with six in-house W2 crews, 7,500+ projects behind us, and a board seat at the Arizona Roofing Contractors Association. We are not a solar installer doing detach work between sales. Roofers are our primary customer.

The whole operation is built around one promise: we will never make you look bad to your customer. Everything below is how we keep it.

How a job runs

From your call to a closed file, in seven steps

Detach day on a flat foam roof. Panels are staged on site or taken to our warehouse, your choice.
  1. Quote. Send the job. You get a clean number back the same day, as a line item you can drop into your proposal or pass through to the homeowner.
  2. Lock the date. Once billing party, address, scope and lease status are confirmed, the detach date is yours. We do not bump roofers for homeowner-direct work.
  3. Detach. Crew labels every panel and conductor, documents existing roof condition, and sends you a photo report the same day. Damage we find that was there before us is photographed so it never becomes a dispute.
  4. Your re-roof. We stay out of your way. Mount locations are marked, and your project manager has a direct line to ours if the roof plan changes.
  5. Reset. Every penetration is flashed and sealed to manufacturer spec, hardware torqued to spec, and the system re-commissioned and tested under load. Second photo report goes to you.
  6. Quality audit. A separate QA technician checks the reset within three days. Anything found gets fixed before the homeowner ever sees it.
  7. Warranty and paperwork. Workmanship warranty, permit copies and inspection sign-off for your project file. The homeowner hears from us once more to confirm the system is producing.

Throughout, the rule is simple: on-track gets an email, off-track gets a phone call. You choose whether we talk to your homeowner directly or route everything through you.

What we protect

Four things a solar sub can cost you. We guard all four.

Your schedule

Detach on the date given, reset within days of your final inspection. Rush slots are held for storm and insurance jobs. A slipped solar date is a slipped roof date, and we treat it that way.

Your roof

Tile-safe handling, matching tile replacement, every penetration flashed and sealed to spec. Our no-leak guarantee is money-back because we do not expect to pay it.

Your customer

We do not sell roofs, ever. We do not market to your homeowners, ever. Your customer stays your customer.

Your paperwork

COI, additional-insured endorsement, permits, inspection sign-offs and two photo reports per job. Your file is complete without chasing anyone.

You will never hear about a problem from your customer first.

If a tile breaks, a date has to move, or an inverter will not come back up, the call comes from us to you before the homeowner knows. It is the standard every crew lead is measured on, and it is the reason roofers who try us once tend to send us everything.

Credentials

Licensed, certified, and on the roofing side of the table

Billing & warranty

Priced per panel, billed the way you want

Detach & reset is priced per panel, with the number driven by roof type, array layout and access. Roofers who sub the work to us and pay us directly get a subcontractor rate; if you would rather keep it off your books, we bill the homeowner directly and it shows up as its own line on their project. You decide before we schedule, and the number on the quote is the number on the invoice.

Roofer accounts run on net terms. Preferred partners get set pricing reviewed quarterly, so you can quote solar on a re-roof without calling us first.

The warranty your customer actually gets

Workmanship warranty on every nut, bolt, mount and electrical connection we touch, at a 10, 15 or 20 year term chosen per job, plus our 100% money-back no-leak guarantee on every penetration we seal. It stands even when the original solar installer has gone out of business, and it is paper you can hand the homeowner alongside your own roof warranty.

Preferred partners

Most of our volume runs through preferred partners

Roofers who send us steady work get a standing arrangement instead of a quote every time: set pricing, a locked place in the schedule, and one person on our side who already knows your open jobs. It is how the roofers who use us for everything run, and it is open to any licensed Arizona roofer.

FAQ

Questions Roofers Ask Us

Send the address, panel count and a roof photo and you will usually have a number the same business day, often within the hour. Quotes go out as a clean line item you can drop straight into your own proposal.
Typically 3 to 7 business days from approval to detach. We lock the date as soon as four things are confirmed: who we are billing, the job address, full or partial re-roof, and whether the system is leased. We do not hold your schedule hostage while the homeowner decides on shingle color.
Your call. Most roofers have us bill the homeowner directly so the solar work is a separate line item and never touches your margin. If you prefer to carry it, we bill you at a subcontractor rate and you mark it up. Either way it is decided before the job is scheduled, not after.
Yes. We pull the electrical/PV permit where the jurisdiction requires one, request the inspection, handle utility interconnection or re-energize paperwork, and send copies for your project file. Nothing on the solar side lands on your desk.
We tell you first, then we fix it. Broken tiles are replaced with matching tile where it exists. If a panel is damaged in our handling we source a replacement at our cost. We carry full general liability and can name you as additional insured for ongoing work.
A workmanship warranty covering every nut, bolt, mount and electrical connection we touch, at a 10, 15 or 20 year term chosen on the job, plus our 100% money-back no-leak guarantee on every penetration we seal. It applies even when the original solar installer is out of business, which in Arizona is increasingly the case.
Yes. We are manufacturer-certified for Tesla, Sunrun, SunPower, SMA, SolarEdge, Enphase and APS, and we handle the lease-company notification and documentation so the homeowner’s lease warranty stays intact.
No. All six field crews are our own W2 employees, trained on our detach standards and on tile-roof handling. The crew that shows up on your job is accountable to us, and we are accountable to you.
Yes, and that is how most of our volume runs. Set pricing, scheduling priority, one dedicated point of contact who knows your jobs, and quarterly reviews. Call (480) 270-2745 or use the form and we will set up a conversation.
